Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America - Barbara Ehrenreich Mostly, this book just made me sad. While the author addresses a real problem (though she only scratches the surface), but leaves us without any real solutions. I don't blame her for that, I don't think there ARE any good solutions. The social programs we currently have in effect aren't working, and in light of the current economic crisis, are already beyond our means.Of course, I am currently in a very pessimistic mindset. My current meaning-of-life theory being that life sucks, and everything we do is simply our way of trying to anesthetize ourselves to that fact. :)
