Dairy Queen - Catherine Gilbert Murdock 3.5 Stars I don't usually go for straight YA, but I needed a book having to do with animals for a challenge and this was recommended to me. I'm not a big fan of football, but I DO get homesick for my home state of Wisconsin so I was willing to give this a try.I enjoyed exploring D.J.'s family dynamics, learning why they didn't talk to each other, what they were hiding. I empathized with her taking so much work on herself to help out her family, while also trying to send her psychic messages to stop being such a slave!I also found the interactions between her and Brian to be very realistic, (I am soooo tired of instalove and "Here left me shove some romance down your throat"I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.
